One of the top trends for spring/summer this year is pink, and what better way to show your love for pink than with some popping pink lips?
In my humble opinion, pink has never not been an “it” color, but it has made the it to the top of fashion lists this spring/summer. Rock it in clothing, accessories, and easiest of all, LIPS! I’ve rounded up some of my favorite (and mostly affordable) pink lip options. From matte to sheer, I’ve got you covered. I’ve also included some of my favorite every day options for those of you who don’t feel comfortable working a super neon hot pink. There’s definitely a color in here for everybody!
First on the list is my absolute favorite one because why not start with a bang? The Clinique Pop Lip Colour in Punch Pop is a gorgeous bright pink with a satin finish. I really love the formula of the Clinique Pop lipsticks because they’re long lasting but not drying. Double win! My husband actually picked out this shade for me, and I have to say, he did a fabulous job!
Next up is the Maybelline Color Jolt Intense Lip Paint in the shade Fight Me Fuchsia. It’s even brighter than the Clinique Pop with a slightly shinier finish. It also has really great staying power, and it comes in at under $10. That’s pretty terrific! The only drawback I have to this lip formula is that when left sitting for too long, they need to be shook up before you apply so that the oil and pigment can mix properly. Not a big deal, but if you forget to do so, it’s a big mess. These lip paints are a dupe for the Too Faced Melted lipsticks, and they are 100% just as good.
If you’re a fan of matte lips, you will love the Maybelline Creamy Matte Lipstick in Faint for Fuchsia. As the name would suggest, it’s quite vibrant. But it’s different than the Maybelline Color Jolt. This shade is more like a super bright, Barbie pink with a matte finish. As you are well aware, I adore the Maybelline Creamy Matte formula. It’s definitely in my top 5 favorite lipstick formulas of all time. Can you say matte, long lasting, and not drying? Score!
Next in the line up is a beautiful baby pink. The TopShop lipstick in Pillow Talk is super gorgeous and just so happens to be another shade picked out by my trendy husband. It’s more on the satin finish side, and you can change up how light it is by what lip pencil you partner it with. I like to line my lips with Rimmel London lip pencil in Eastend Snob before putting this on. Both shades have cool undertones making it almost icy (in the best way possible). It’s a double win because it looks cool and refreshing in the summer and icy in the winter. Love!
Now if all of these past shades are a little much for you or if you’re a super low maintenance type of gal, the MAC Cosmetics Lipstick in Syrup is going to be your go to lippie. It’s part of their Lustre formula so it’s super sheer. This pink has a bit of a cool, purple undertone and it also can look very different depending upon which lip pencil you partner it with. When I wear it with the Rimmel London lip pencil in Eastend Snob, it’s very cool toned. When I wear it with the MAC Cosmetics lip pencil in Soar, it’s more of a dusty rose/mauve. Still too much? Don’t wear it with a lip pencil at all! In fact, there’s really no need to use a mirror even. This formula is so easy to wear!
