Brrr… it’s cold outside! And I love it! When the temperature drops, it can be a little difficult to stay warm without continually looking like a giant marshmallow. Never fear though! I’ve got some tips and tricks up my sleeve to help you stay warm AND stylish.
Even though I’m really a mermaid at heart, I do love every season in its time. So when winter rolls around, I want there to bust out all the coats (check out my coat collection here!). Thankfully, this winter has been delivering an extra dose of chill. But with that comes the struggle of staying warm without losing your sense of style.
4 Tips to Stay Warm AND Stylish:
1. Layers, layers, layers
This is super important. I like to opt for thin layers that provide maximum warmth. The warmest, cutest thin layer is a cashmere sweater. Though that’s not I’ve opted for here, it’s definitely one of the best options. Since cashmere can be pretty pricey, I’ve linked up some more affordable options for y’all!
2. The Perfect Coat
This parka from Gap is one of my best purchases ever because I wear it nonstop in the winter! So needless to say, I would definitely recommend picking up a parka of your choice, but some other warm styles include faux fur coats and wool coats. They will all keep you nice and toasty! Also, a hood is also the perfect addition to keep your ears from turning to icicles.
Boots are a necessity to keep those toesies warm! Whether you opt for booties or over the knee, heels or flats, boots are your best option. These leather booties from Naturalizer have been with me for the past 7 years and they’re still going strong. They also have some tread on the bottom which really helps when there’s ice on the ground.
Hats, beanies, gloves, tights. They’re all your friend when the temperatures drop as they add an extra layer either under your dresses and skirts or on your head. Also I’m so glad cabby hats and berets are super trending right now because I love them anyways. This knit beret definitely helps keep the heat in while being super cute. Beanies with large pom poms are also a key trend this winter, and who doesn’t love a good beanie?
So go forth and be warm!
