Red and Pink // The Perfect Color Combo

Red and Pink

It’s no secret I’ve been having a love affair with red. In fact, if you follow me on Instagram, you may be thinking, “Girl, choose another color!” But I just can’t help myself. I feel so good in red! But who knew I would lose my mind over red paired with pink?!

I recently had a bit of a cheeky haul from Old Navy which you can check out here, and this outfit was part of the things I kept.

Let’s start with these kick flare jeans. I. ADORE. THE FIT. I don’t know I can communicate to you how amazing they are. I’ve been wanting more of a high rise fit, but everything I have tried on only accentuated the fact that I’m carrying a bit of a jelly belly after having Sawyer only just over 3 months ago. These jeans are considered a mid-rise fit, but they hit perfectly high enough to give illusion of high rise without making me look I’m still pregnant if you feel me. In fact, they cut off the jelly belly in just the right place to create a slimming effect! I’ve already tried them with tops tucked in and score! They look amazing! Not to mention this vintage red wash is dreamy! And the raw hem! Aaaah! I just can’t. Somebody stop me before I purchase them in every wash they come in.

This top is pretty great as well. It’s a gorgeous pinky coral striped button down tunic. (all the adjectives of lifeย *lols*ย ) The fabric is very light which makes it perfect for summer/right now and will also transition pretty well into fall. Yes, I know that color isn’t very fall like, but I wear bright colors year round so it ain’t no thang for me! I imagine pairing it up with a long cardigan or under a sweater or pinafore style dress. But for now, I’m loving it with these red kick flare jeans.

I decided to make it a little more retro with these white, very 1950s style heels and pearl jewelry. This definitely pulls more of a sweet style but I really adore a good retro vibe. You could opt for some white converse or a simple sandal slide for other style vibes!
