The Ordinary: A Skincare Review

The Ordinary

Good skincare holds a special place in my heart. I am willing to dish out the big bucks for skincare that works, but after discovering a new skincare line called The Ordinary, I might not have to.

For the past month, I’ve been actively testing out three products I picked up from The Ordinary- a new skincare line under the larger umbrella company, Deciem. It’s main mission statement is “Clinical formulations with integrity.” Β Their formulations are free of parabens, sulfates, mineral oil, and many more. It’s pretty amazing!

The three items I chose were the Lactic Acid 5%+HA 2%, the 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil, and the Matrixyl 10%+HA and not a single one of these items costs more than $12. Yes, you heard that right. $12!Β That’s one of the best parts about this brand. All of their products come in the simplest of packaging. No frills whatsoever. Because of this, they’re able to offer high quality products at an exceptionally affordable price!

1. Lactic Acid 5%+HA 2%:Β This is an alpha hydroxyl acid that gently exfoliates the skin while Tasmanian Pepperberry helps to reduce irritation commonly associated with acid use. Other bloggers have compared this formula to that of the Sunday Riley Good Genes Serum with is a well-known lactic acid serum. I’ve used that serum before and I have to say, I don’t believe this serum lives up to that one. However, it is really good for the price. It has helped to exfoliate my skin and make it brighter. If you’re in a pinch, this is really, really good!

2. 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil: Rose hip seed oil is known for reducing the signs of aging and erasing skin damage such as acne scars and sun spots. This is a gorgeous, pure oil that I really love! It’s great for all skin types and even has claims to help acne prone skin. If you only buy one of these items,Β get. this. oil.

3. Matrixyl 10%+HA: Matrixyl is a peptide that is highly affective at reducing the appearance of static and dynamic wrinkles. I can attest to these claims because my forehead wrinkles are definitely diminished. I’m quite impressed by this product, and I will be keeping it in my regimen for sure! Be sure to give it a try for yourself.

You can shop all these products down below. I’ve also rounded up some others I have my eye on and will be purchasing soon!

  1. The thing I love most about this brand is that even though the packaging is simple, it’s still modern and sleek, in my opinion. I just might have to try the rose hips oil!
